USD/SGD live chart

USD/SGD shows how many Singapore dollar units (SGD) one US dollar (USD) buys. When it rises, the US dollar is strengthening against the Singapore dollar; when it falls, the reverse.

About USD/SGD

What moves it

The US dollar side (Federal Reserve)
Federal Reserve rate expectations, US inflation and jobs data, and global risk appetite — in stress the dollar is usually bought.
The Singapore dollar side (Monetary Authority of Singapore)
MAS policy statements (which steer the currency rather than an interest rate), regional trade and Chinese growth.

When it is most active

Trading notes

  • In risk-off periods money tends to flow into the US dollar, so USD/SGD often reacts to stock-market sell-offs.
  • Exotic pairs usually have wider spreads, larger overnight swaps and sharper gaps around news than the majors. Size positions accordingly.
