Risk–reward calculator
Check that a trade plan makes sense before you place it: how far is the stop, how far is the target, and how often must you be right?
Risk–reward
- Reward : risk
- 3.00 : 1
- Risk
- 20.0 pips
- Reward
- 60.0 pips
- Win rate needed to break even
- 25.0%
Break-even win rate = 1 ÷ (1 + reward:risk), before costs. A higher ratio needs fewer winners — but targets far away are also reached less often.
How to use it
- Choose buy or sell.
- Enter entry, stop-loss and take-profit prices.
- Compare the break-even win rate with your journal's real results.
