About USD/JPY

What moves it

The US dollar side (Federal Reserve)

The Japanese yen side (Bank of Japan)
The gap between Japanese and foreign bond yields, Bank of Japan policy shifts, and risk sentiment — the yen often strengthens when markets fall.

One pip is 0.01. On a standard lot of 100,000 USD, a one-pip move is worth 1,000 JPY. Your broker converts this into your account currency at the current rate.
