About EUR/USD
What moves it
- The euro side (European Central Bank)
- ECB policy relative to the Fed, euro-area inflation and growth surveys (PMIs), and energy prices.
- The US dollar side (Federal Reserve)
- Federal Reserve rate expectations, US inflation and jobs data, and global risk appetite — in stress the dollar is usually bought.

Pip value
One pip is 0.0001. On a standard lot of 100,000 EUR, a one-pip move is worth 10 USD. For a US-dollar account that is $10 per pip per standard lot (or $1 per mini lot).

Trading notes
- In risk-off periods money tends to flow into the US dollar, so EUR/USD often reacts to stock-market sell-offs.
